I asked for bread and butter, but you gave me cake

Well, what a nice couple of days I've had. Wednesday, after work, hubby decided to treat me to an impromptu date night. He had picked up that there was a live music night at one of our local real ale pubs. It was so cold I couldn't think past wearing my jeans, but I did dig this gorgeous Welsh tweed jerkin to jazz it up a bit.
Boots - Debenhams; Jeans - Dorothy Perkins; Black top - Wallis (gift);
Jerkin - Vintage; Necklace - Gift; Hat - Christy's (gift)
I also wasn't going to miss the opportunity to wear the gorgeous new bowler hat that hubby had bought me for Christmas.

Can you tell how much I like it, I got carried away with the Picasa effects. Anyway, the live music was really good, and to top it off one of the very talented acts turned out to be a friend of a friend, so we got chatting too.

Thursday I was greeted by the posty bearing a parcel of gorgeous from darling Helga. I couldn't wait to tear open the box and find what delights it had in store.

Beautiful stockings, including the most amazing 'handbag pack' all vintage, brooches and pendants, a hair flower, a book, the sweetest little milk jug, lovely purses but most beautiful was a gorgeous Oroton vintage chainmail evening bag. I love chainmail, I can't wait to use this, thank you Helga me darlin'.

After that joyful start to the day I was off to spend some time with my poorly mum, who is feeling most out of sorts, before heading off to collect hubby from the station. He'd had a long day on a work trip, and came home bearing another gift in the form of this gorgeous vintage ceramic brooch/ pendant... with an Alfie on. Thursday was definitely my day for gifts and trinkets, I felt as spoiled as I did at Christmas.

I've not really got anything fun planned for the weekend, getting the house in order for more estate agents, but I do have a lovely new camera that I'm itching to try out so I'll try and get to use that at some point, probably early next week. Have fabulous weekends, whatever you get up to.
